Torri Cantine, precisely in the area of Ancarano and Controguerra, in the province of Teramo from a fifty-year-old vine at an altitude of 290 metres above sea level and with a splendid south-south-east exposure, have created the Bakàn DOC Riserva, 100% Montepulciano d’Abruzzo grapes, late harvested, towards the end of October with hand selected grapes trained in a rows and from certified organic agriculture.
It is vinified in thermo-conditioned steel vats and at the end of the malolactic fermentation the wine ages in concrete tanks for 6 months to then be decanted into used barriques for 12 months, and finally refine in the bottle for at least another 6 months.
Let’s taste it!
Colour: an impenetrable ruby red robe pampered by a delicate garnet tinge and with a magnificent consistency.
Smell: in the variegated and intense olfactory framework stand out clearly the hints of ripe blackberry, sour cherries, mulberry with strong hints of undergrowth.
Taste: the taste is warm, soft and elegant, black cherry, cherry, berries surrounded by silky tannins on the palate perfectly blended with a consistent acidity. The finish is rich in flavor and pleasantly almond.
A wine to be drunk at 18-20 °C and, before serving, I would suggest to wait a few minutes after opening.
It is good to drink alone or in company and possibly with structured dishes such as cold cuts, “pappardelle” with meat sauce, stuffed beef rolls or mature cheeses.
