Torri Cantine was born more than fifty years ago in Torano Nuovo in the province of Teramo in an area of over 60 hectares located at an altitude of 290 meters above sea level therefore with a magnificent temperature range and excellently exposed to south-south/east.
A certified organic company that has always focused on quality wine regardless of how it is offered for sale also by selecting partners throughout Italy who could guarantee origin and territoriality while maintaining the minimum quality standards required.
Thus was born the With Love line, an organic, young line based on national and international vines that were able to express the origin of the vine to the fullest with particularly nice and witty labels.
The line consists of very good young wines accessible to any wallet therefore also aimed at young people who, in addition to quality are also able to appreciate the amusing drawings conceived and created by the eclectic Abruzzo artist Riccardo Di Virgilio Mambella.
But let’s get to today’s wine, a Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC from 2021 of 13 and a half degrees, the result of a harvest from the 1st decade of October from certified organic agriculture, vinified and aged in steel in addition to malolactic fermentation
Let’s open it!
Opening is very simple thanks to the screw cap. As you can see, it does not require a corkscrew and it is very easy to close. However, let us remember that after the first opening once the air has entered the subsequent closures will never be as inviolable as the first one and the wine, like any other wine must be drunk as soon as possible.
It is specially equipped with this particular Stelvin-type screw cap which guarantees airtightness, ideal for these wines and safeguards us, if we want also from the risk of cork smell.
A wine not to be stored in the cellar but to always be kept available for emergencies.
Young, fresh, sometimes aromatic, born to be drunk quickly.
Colour: a ruby red with purplish hues, particularly bright and consistent
Smell: on the nose it is intense with a range of red blackberry fruits, berries, cherries, a hint of rose and a delicate vinosity.
Taste: dry and with a nice freshness, well inserted in a lean structure and with silky tannins, in excellent balance with the alcohol content and softness.
The olfactory references are confirmed which almost show a certain pulpiness and an interesting persistence flowing into a long and delicate finish of sapidity.
A wine to drink at 16-18 °C and with the classic red wine glass with a wide rim.
Excellent for aperitifs, appetizers, tasty vegetarian foods, roasted and grilled meats, as well as medium and long-aged cheeses.
I imagine it with the classic Italian appetizer, a nice first course with meat sauce, a “cacio e pepe”, a semi-aged “pecorino di fossa” and of course as the label itself recommends, with “arrosticini”.
